Sundale, Aniko defy unit market blues

PRESS: THE AUSTRALIAN ARTICLE BY TURI CONDON

The housing downturn has not deterred a handful of private developers, with Sundale launching a 116-unit building at Sydney’s Macquarie Park while Aniko Group has announced a first-stage 105-apartment project at Hope Island on the northern Gold Coast.

Aniko’s Gold Coast project, called No 1 Grant Avenue, will eventually see two buildings totalling 210 units on a 8390sq m waterfront site.

Aniko Group head George Mastrocostas said the company had sold out its $55 million Three 72 Marine on the Gold Coast’s Broadwater, saying the “pent-up” demand for the northern region of the coast was a good sign for its new project, where prices will start at $369,000.
